Networks for AI: Mobile networks need a “ground-up” approach to supporting AI because AI traffic has different requirements than traditional internet traffic. Usman explained how AI traffic differs from traditional data traffic and why mobile networks need to rethink their network buildout approaches to address AI needs. There is a lot of talk about “AI for Networks” but not much about “Networks for AI.” He identified edge use cases as critical for AI inference and a sweet spot for mobile networks to monetize edge capabilities.
