We had an excellent opportunity to interview Howie Xu (Chief AI Officer at Gen) during the latest Silicon Valley Tech Talks show. We talked about killer use cases of GenAI and its ‘overhyped’ and ‘underhyped’ aspects. We also discussed recent industry developments such as OpenAI funding, Google’s antitrust ruling, and Nobel Prize recognition for AI research. Howie shared his valuable perspective on these topics and helped us understand the broader impact of these developments on AI.
Howie is a well-regarded AI voice in Silicon Valley, having contributed to the AI space over the last decade. Before Gen, he held executive leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Cisco, and VMware. He is an active investor, board member, and guest lecturer at Stanford University.
