We had a chat with Chenxi Wang, Ph.D., during the TechCon SoCal 2025 event. Chenxi is an experienced technology executive with deep cybersecurity expertise. She is also the Founder and Managing General Partner of Rain Capital, a Cyber-focused venture fund.

Chenxi categorized the top trends in the cybersecurity space into two categories:

(1) The emergence of AI has resulted in the reengineering of cybersecurity tools, and the requirements are different.

(2) Shifting in the geopolitical landscape leads to fragmentation in tech stacks; requirements and regulations from regions such as the US, Europe, and China are different.

Chenxi also explained further how AI and cybersecurity overlap.
