There is a significant disparity between developed and developing/underdeveloped nations regarding AI Innovations and infrastructure access. Could such disparity lead to a labor challenge or economic crisis? What should we do as a global community to avoid these challenges?
In this short clip, Olaf elaborates on this challenge that the international community and nations must be wary of. Olaf is a Global Strategist, Think Tank Founder, and Author of multiple AI books. He is serving as the founder and CEO of a Think Tank advisory firm, Cambrian Futures. He is also part of the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, Hult International Business School, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
As a result of this disparity, when the gap in income inequality between developed and underdeveloped economies will become broader, it could eventually lead to severe economic and even political crises. Olaf encourages developing nations worldwide to learn about model creation from top-tier AI innovators (e.g., the United States). These developing nations must eventually build their own model creation and application capabilities that are suitable for their local markets. Open-source AI model trends spurred by Llama at Meta will help with that.
